Odisha’s top B School XIMB holds Business Conclave

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), the premier B School in Odisha, today conducted its Annual Business Conclave-14 with ‘Enhancing the Supply chain through Business Analytics’ as the theme.

ximb conclaveThe conclave, held at the XOMB auditorium, had two sessions: Ashwamedh-14, the annual operations conclave and Envision, the annual systems conclave.

Senior executives from diverse companies like Oracle, Microsoft, Deloitte, Cummins, IBM, Mindtree, Bechtel and Sap, besides faculty members and about 550 students particpated in the conclave.

Yogesh Antrad, Senior General Manager, Cummins India Limited, conducted a stimulating discussion on the presence of supply chain in the industry. He focused on three key themes to enable vision in the supply chain management process – Synchronized Business Planning, Enterprise Resource Planning and Network Optimism.

Milind Phadke, Director (Product Management), Oracle Corporation, stressed on the challenges faced in handling data for analytics by presenting real life examples. “We always had the data, but we did not have the computing power which is advancing now,” he said.

Elaborating on four aspects of data management – Capture, Manage, Analyse, and Act – Phadke said; “The key to decision making is automation of supply chain”.

Mohammad Ashraf, US Senior Manager, Deloitte, spoke about the myths and realities relevant to supply chain and concluded his discussion by referring to Data Mining and Harmonizing Data as the key points.

The event concluded with an interactive question and answer session which witnessed active participation from the students and the faculty members as well.

The session was conducted by XOPS, the operations committee of XIMB. The committee also launched its Android based mobile application, which is the first digital application to be launched by a functional committee of any B-School in the country.
