Odisha’s VSSUT defers exams scheduled tomorrow until further orders

Sambalpur: In view of an increase in Covid cases on the premises of the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla, authorities of the varsity decided to postpone the exams scheduled to be held from tomorrow until further orders. This was informed by VSSUT Vice Chancellor Bibhuti Bhusan Pati today.

Earlier in the day, the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation announced a shutdown in the VSSUT until further orders after 29 students of the varsity tested positive for Covid.

Pulaha, Pulastya, Atri, Kratu, Vasistha, Marich, Anuradha, Arundhati, Rohini, Visakha and Vasundhara hostels of VSSUT were declared as the containment zone. The municipal corporation also announced adjacent area of Pulaha hostel of VSSUT as the buffer zone.

Worth mentioning, the Odisha government allowed universities to reopen for final year students of under graduate and post graduate courses from January 11.
