Ola launches cab rental service in Odisha capital

Ola (formerly Olacabs), India’s leading mobile app for Intermediate public transportation [IPT], today announced the launch of their services in Odisha capital.

Ola cab rental serviceUsers in Bhubaneswar will now have access to the large network of cars present on the Ola platform to travel within the city. They will be able to book a cab at a click of a button and track its location in real time. Customers can also book a cab by logging on to the Ola website or by calling on 0674-3355335.

The launch in Bhubaneswar also marks Ola’s entry into the state of Odisha.

The company has taken industry leading initiatives to ensure safety and security of passengers. After booking, details such as the cab driver’s name & phone number are immediately shared with the customer. The user can also share a link over SMS with friends and family for them to track the location of the cab in real-time.

The company promises to deliver convenient and reliable transportation by working with licensed and verified drivers in the city.

Customers can book cabs by downloading the free Ola app for Android, iOS and Windows or by calling 0674- 3355335. Ola mini is available at Rs 49 for the first 2 kms and will be charged Rs 12 per km after that. Sedans can be booked at Rs 49 for the first 2kms and will be charged Rs 15 per km after that.

The Ola app currently has over one lakh vehicles available across 67 cities, making it the largest as well as the fastest in growing cab booking app in India.

The company has over 250 cabs signed up in Bhubaneswar and plans to increase the number of cabs on its platform to 750within the next 6 months.

In order to encourage micro-entrepreneurship among drivers, it has tied up with car manufacturers like Tata, Ford, Mahindra, Maruti and Nissan to help drivers buy cars from them directly at discounts of up to Rs 100,000. It has also tied up with financial institutions to ensure that drivers are able to procure loans for buying their own cars easily.
