Ollywood actor Varsha Priyadarshini joins BJD

Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actor Varsha Priyadarshini today joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ahead of elections 2024.

The actress joined BJD in the presence of Rajya Sabha member Sasmit Patra at a programme at Shankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

Praising Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in her address, Varsha said that she decided to officially join the BJD after being inspired by his ‘clean’ personality.

“I am big fan of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. His spotless image and clear personality have always inspired me. The best part of CM Patnaik is he is very simple, speaks less but works more. Besides, he never talks against anyone. His works always speak. His contribution to Odisha is incomparable. He is unrivaled. Not only for me, but he is also ideal for everyone,” she said after joining the conch party.

Varsha is the former wife of Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty. A few months ago, the couple legally parted ways after Orissa High Court granted divorce petition filed by the actor-turned-politician.

Recently, Anubhav joined the BJP after resigning from the BJD.
