At a time when Ollywood actors are under the cloud of suspicion for having link with Ponzi firms, the regional film industry’s leading actress Archita Sahu today refuted the allegations of having any connection with chit fund companies.

The 26-year-old Femina Miss India contestant today issued a statement to media in which she said that she was neither associated with any dubious firm nor has ever asked anyone to invest money in these firms.

“I have never encouraged or influenced people to invest money in Oscar Group. The allegations leveled by the investors are false and baseless,” Archita Sahu said in a statement.

Notably, the alleged actor-turned-politician-chit fund firm nexus has turning to be a hot potato for the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) as Opposition parties have been baying for the neo-politicians’ blood.

It may be mentioned here that the actor-turned-politicians affiliated to BJD have maintained that they do not have any link with the chit fund companies.

Recently, senior actor Uttam Mohanty, who had shared dais with Oscar Group of Companies chairman Prabhas Chandra Rout in a function held in Surat, had rejected the claims of the investors of soliciting business for the company.

The actor had claimed that the allegations are false and was ready to face probe by any agency if the complainants produce electronic evidence of him asking people to invest in the Oscar chit fund company.

Since the arrest of Maa Tarini Estcon Pvt Ltd CMD Niranjan Rana and Oscar Group chief Prabhas Chandra Rout, the actors associated with the ruling party—Anubahav Mohanty, Siddhant Mohapatra, Akash Das Nayak and Tatwa Prakash Satpathy alias Papu Pom Pom—are in the line of fire of the Opposition parties in the state.

There have been several protests and demonstrations seeking to bring them under the purview of investigation.
