Cuttack: Popular Ollywood filmmaker Trupti Ranjan Biswal passed away here today following a road accident.
The director breathed his last at a private hospital in Cuttack where he was undergoing treatment after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle accident yesterday.
Trupti Biswal had started his career in Ollywood as an assistant to renowned filmmaker late Hara Patnaik. Later, he directed a few popular mega TV soaps including 'Suna Kalash' and 'Gayatri'.
He was the director of an Odia film 'Jai Sriram', in which Ollywood actor Bobby Mishra had made a debut opposite Bhojpuri actress Antara Biswas, popularly known as Monalisa.
His directorial dramas including 'Kemiti Kahibi Emiti Katha', 'Toh Naa Re Mo Naa Ku Deichi Jodi', 'Ete Sari Tote Kiye Kala' and 'Michua Radhua Gapa Sarila' were major hits.
