Cuttack: In an unfortunate incident, an on-duty sanitation worker of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) died after a portion of a boundary wall collapsed at Revenue Colony in Deula Sahi here today.

The deceased has been identified as Gurumurthy.

Sources said when Gurumurthy was cleaning an area at the colony, a portion of a boundary wall fell on him leading to his death. On receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the body to SCB Medical College and Hospital here for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, locals alleged that the mishap took place as the boundary was in dilapidated condition since long.
