Paradip: A home guard died after a truck hit him at Dochaki in Paradip-Chandikhol road in Jagatsinghpur district.

The deceased has been identified as Rajan Pradhan, a resident of Baladiha village.

According to reports, Rajan was deployed at Dochaki for monitoring the traffic during night hours with other police personnel.

A speeding truck allegedly hit the home guard while he was trying to stop the vehicle that breached the queue early in the morning, killing him on the spot.

Reacting to the incident, the locals staged a road blockade by burning tyres.
