Dhenkanal, Feb 9:

Local police today arrested one more accused in the alleged murder of a BJP worker in Tarabha village in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district in the run up to the three-tier panchayat elections in the state.

Police arrested Trayambak Biswal for his alleged complicity in the case. With the latest arrest, the number of arrested persons in connection with the case has risen to two.

Trayambak is cousin of Byomkesh Biswal, earlier arrested in the case, sources said.

On the other hand, state DGP KB Singh today informed media that Crime Branch would probe into the Tarabha incident.

It may be recalled that Salman Rout, a cab driver and BJP supporter was shot dead on January 4. Following the incident, violence broke out in the village between the groups who set the house of Byomkesh on fire.
