One dead, another critical in bee attack in Odisha

One person was killed and another seriously injured when a swarm of honey bees attacked them in Kabilpur village under Garadpur block in Odisha’s Kendrapara district today.

The deceased Sarbeswar Nayak and his son Prasanna Nayak were attacked by the honey bees while they were returning from their field and were taking rest under a banyan tree, reports said.

While both were rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Harianka, Sarbeswar was declared dead by the doctors. However, Prasanna is undergoing treatment at the CHC for his injuries, reports added.

Moreover, three others of the village who were also stung by the bees were discharged from the CHC after being provided with first aid.
