One dead, two critical in truck collision in Odisha

Balasore: A person was killed and two others sustained grievous injuries after a truck loaded with sand had a head-on collision with a container truck on NH-16 near Barikpur village under Soro police limits in Balasore district.

However, the identity of the deceased is yet to be known.

According to the sources, the sand-laden truck on its way to Soro had a head-on collision with  the container truck that was heading to Balasore from Bhubaneswar. Driver of the container truck died on the spot while  two others were critically following the mishap. Injured driver and helper of the sand-laden were later rescued and admitted to Soro Government hospital.

After an hour of efforts, police recovered the body of the container driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle. The police later seized both the trucks and began an inquiry in this connection .
