One more dies of dengue in Odisha

Cuttack, Aug 16:

With one more death due to dengue reported at the SCB Medical College & Hospital in Odisha’s Cuttack today death toll due to the vector-borne disease in the hospital rose to eight.

The deceased has been identified as Nandakishore Behera. He hailed from Chhenakhia village under Khuntuni police limits in Cuttack district.

Behera was admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital on August 11 and was shifted to bed no. 13 of the central ICU as his health condition deteriorated.

The hospital’s emergency officer Dr. Bhubanananda Maharana has confirmed Behera’s death.

“His condition was very serious. He was suffering from dengue hemorrhagic type and dengue shock syndrome as well which is considered very serious. We had admitted him in the central ICU but he expired today. With his death, the total death toll due dengue has gone up to eight,” informed Dr. Maharana to reporters.
