One person was killed and another critically injured in a lightning strike in Bandhamunda panchayat under Ranapur block in Odisha’s Nayagarh district this afternoon.

According to local sources, deceased Nabakishore Pradhan and injured Suratha Pradhan were plucking eggplant from their field this afternoon when lightning struck them.

Locals took them to the nearby government hospital at Tangi where doctors declared Nabakishore as brought dead.

Condition of Suratha is stated to be critical.
