One more debt-ridden farmer ends life in Odisha 

Balasore: One more farmer allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Padmapur village under Chandipur police limits in Balasore district today.

The deceased has been identified as Sumanta Behera of Padampr village.

Family members of the deceased said Sumanta had taken loans from private moneylenders for cultivation on his five acres land. However, the paddy crops were damaged due to deficit rain.

Today morning, Sumanta had an argument with his son over repayment of the loans. Depressed over crop loss and loan burden, he ended his life by consuming pesticide. Though Sumanta was rushed to Balasore district headquarters hospital (DHH), he died while undergoing treatment.
