Bhubaneswar: A female elephant died at Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) on the outskirts of Odisha capital.

The seven-year-old elephant Kamala died due to suspected Herpes infection, sources said.

It may be mentioned here that three elephants died at the zoo in less than a month’s time.

With the death of Kamala today, there are only five more female elephants left at the famous zoo.
