One more Odisha Minister tests positive for COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: The Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Minister Padmini Dian has tested positive for COVID-19 in Odisha.

Dian is the first woman minister in the State to have been infected with the deadly virus.

The politician is currently in home quarantine. She advised people who have come in contact with her to undergo COVID-19 test and isolate themselves to break the chain of infection.

Recently, Higher Education and Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo and Rural Development and Labour Minister Susanta Singh have also tested positive for the virus.

Besides, many MLAs in the State have been diagnosed with the disease. They included, Bhubaneswar (North) legislator Susant Rout, Bhubaneswar (Central) MLA Ananta Narayan Jena, Berhampur MLA Bikram Panda, Chandbali MLA Byomakesh Ray, Baramba MLA Debi Prasad Mishra, Pottangi MLA Pritam Padhi, Bhadrak MLA Sanjib Mallick, Khandapada MLA and Editor of ‘Sambad’ Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Bari MLA Sunanda Das, Polasara MLA Srikant Sahu, Remuna MLA Sudhanshu Shekhar Parida and Salepur MLA Prasant Behera.
