One more tests COVID-19 positive in Odisha; total count reaches 90

Bhubaneswar:  The total count of COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha touched 90 after one more person tested positive for the virus, informed Health and Family Welfare Department today. 

The fresh case is a 40-year-old male of Bhadrak district. He has travel history to West Bengal. Contact tracing and followup action is being undertaken, said the department.

So far,  12 number of positive cases have been reported from the district, out of which 10 are active. Meanwhile, two patients have recovered. Total 2474 samples were tested in the state on April 23 (RMRC-1241, AIIMS-115, SCB-548, MKCG-45, VIMSAR-66, ILS-377, IGH-63, Apollo-90)

Out of the total 90 cases in  the state, 56 are active and undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 hospitals across the state while one has succumbed to the deadly virus.

It is pertinent to mention here that the state Government announced complete shutdown for 60 hours in three districts-Bhadrak, Balasore and Jajpur after 28 positive cases reported in the districts in last five days.  The shutdown will remain in force till 10 am of April 26.
