One more tests positive for COVID-19 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Samples of another person from Odisha tested positive today for deadly COVID-19. According to the Health and Family Welfare Department, samples of a 29-year-old youth from Bhadrak district with travel history to Dubai were found to be positive for COVID-19.

With this the total number of COVID-19 positive cases increased to four in the State.

Health Secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal spoke to the Bhadrak Collector and asked him to shift the patient to SCBMCH, isolate the close contacts and get them tested and trace all contacts as soon as possible. MD NHM is monitoring the follow up action, said official sources.

They added the fourth COVID patient did not have any symptoms. Hence people with travel history but no symptoms should not be complacent. They must follow home quarantine for two weeks and then self monitor their health condition for another two weeks.

A total of 610 samples from Odisha have been tested till date. Of them samples of four persons were found to be positive for COVID-19. Till yesterday 473 samples were tested in the State.

A total of 137 samples were tested at RMRC today out of which 119 tested negative. At AIIMS Bhubaneswar 15 samples were tested of which one was found to be positive.

Today at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, three samples were tested. All of them were found to be negative.
