One of Odisha twins Jaga prays for Kalia in Delhi Jagannath Temple

New Delhi: One of the separated conjoined twins Jaga prayed to Lord Jagannath for the speedy recovery of his twin sibling Kalia here on Sunday.

The little boy accompanied by his mother Pushpanjali Kanhara visited the Jagannath Temple located at Hauz Khas area in south New Delhi yesterday to worship the deities for recovery of Kalia.

According to reports, Pushpanjali, the mother of Jaga and Kalia, had visited the temple seeking blessings of the Lord for her two kids. Jaga prayed for his brother too.

Recently, the parents of twins had appealed to the State government for permission to return to return home in Odisha.

They urged the government to shift the twins from the AIIMS New Delhi to any hospital in Odisha.

Notably, both Jaga and Kalia are currently undergoing treatment at the AIIMS in New Delhi for the past one year following their successful surgery.

In a recent report to the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), the AIIMS said that Jaga and Kalia are clinically fit for discharge from the hospital.

However, the discharge date is yet to be finalised.

The craniopagus conjoined twins hailing from Milipada village in Kandhamal district were separated by a team of doctors after a 21-hour-long surgery in October last year. The historic surgery had created a new chapter in Indian medical science.
