Bhubaneswar: As many as 5 more COVID-19 patients died in Odisha, official sources said today. While 4 of them died due to COVID-19, an one-year-old baby succumbed to other health issues.
Those who died due to COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at hospitals have been identified as a 71-year-old man of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Oral Cancer, a 40-year-old woman of Khordha district, a 71-year-old man of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Blood Cancer, and an 80-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Diabetes and heart disease, the Health Department said.
On the other hand, an one year and 3 months old baby of Sundargarh district who had tested positive for COVID-19 passed away due to GM 1 Gangliosidosis, the department said.
With this, COVID toll in Odisha mounted to 74 while 22 COVID-19 patients have died of other health problems till date.
Odisha today also reported 543 fresh COVID-19 casesas the tally crossed 14,000-mark and mounted to 14280.
