ONGC donates Rs 5 cr for Odisha’s Srimandir restoration work

Puri: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Limited has extended a financial assistance of Rs 5 crore to Archeological Survey of India (ASI) for restoration work of Shree Jagannath Temple and Konark Sun Temple in Odisha’s Puri district, which sustained damage during cyclonic storm FANI.

The amount was provided under ONGC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy. Kiran DM, CEO, ONGC Foundation presented the letter of grant to Rakesh Singh Lal, Additional Director General, Archeological Survey of India, and T J Alone, Director, Monument.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) had also contributed an equal amount for the restoration work.

Notably, the cyclone has caused damage to civil infrastructure and electrical equipment of Shree Jagannath Temple. As per assessment, civil infrastructure worth Rs 3.82 crore and electrical equipment & accessories worth Rs 1.24 crore have been damaged in the cyclone.
