Online booking of Kalyan Mandap for marriages begins in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: As the Odisha Government has increased the maximum ceiling of marriage related gatherings, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today began online booking for Kalyan Mandaps under its jurisdiction.

“The Kalyan Mandaps will start operating with strict adherence to the Government’s COVID-19 guidelines,” said BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhury.

Chaudhury further warned that BMC squads will ensure strict vigilance to check if social distancing and other safety protocols are violated.

It is pertinent to mention here that the state Government in its Unlick 6.0 guidelines has allowed a maximum ceiling of 200 persons in marriage related gatherings with certain conditions such as maximum of 50% of the hall capacity will be allowed in closed places subject to the above ceiling.  And, mask wearing, social distancing and provision of thermal scanning and use of hand wash and sanitiser will be mandatory.
