OPDs of this Odisha hospital to remain closed for 5 days

Burla: Amid the rising cases of COVID-19, authorities of the VIMSAR, Burla today announced closure of the out-patient departments (OPDs) of the hospital from tomorrow till July 19.

The hospital authorities also stated all routine surgery has been suspended during the period. However, Casualty and Emergency Surgery will be allowed to function during the period of restriction.

Similarly, only referral and emergency cases will be admitted in the hospital.

The decision has been taken in larger public interest and with a view to contain the spread of COVID-19, an official said.

Except main entrance, all other entrance gates of VIMSAR, Burla will be closed with proper barricading. Only one attendant will be allowed to accompany the patients.

Wearing of Mask in the hospital premises will be mandatory for all staff, patients and attendants.

Official sources said fine will be imposed on persons violating the rules set up by the hospital.

Assistant Fire Officer, Sambalpur in coordination with VIMSAR, Burla will sanitise the hospital premises during this period. The campus main gate will be guarded by police personnel.
