Orange alert: Severe heat wave conditions very likely in these Odisha districts during next 2 days

Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent dry conditions and the strengthening of northwesterly dry winds in the middle and upper level of the atmosphere in Odisha, severe heat wave conditions are very likely in these Odisha districts during the next 48 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

The IMD issued Orange Warning in six districts of the State and Yellow Warning in several others.

In a special bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside during the peak hours of day time between 1100 Hrs IST-1500 Hrs IST during next 3 days.”

The highest maximum temperature of 45.9°C was recorded yesterday at Boudh. The lowest minimum temperature of 31.7°C was recorded at Jharsuguda in the plains of Odisha.

Temperature Forecast: Maximum (day) temperature is likely to rise by 2°C to 3°C during the next three days and fall by 2°C to 4°C thereafter at many places over the district of Odisha.

Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions is very likely to prevail in the districts of Boudh, Subarnapur, Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Bolangir.

Yellow Warning: (Be Updated)-

Heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail in the districts of Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Deogarh, Nuapada, Kalahandi, and Angul.

Warm night conditions are very likely to prevail over the districts of Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Subarnapur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Nuapada, and Bargarh.

Hot and humid weather conditions are very likely over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Khordha, Nayagarh, Puri, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
