Orissa HC disposes of Babushaan’s anticipatory bail plea

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court today disposed of the anticipatory bail petition of actor Tanmay Mohanty, popularly known as Babushaan, in connection with a complaint filed by his wife Trupti Satpathy over marital discord.

The court disposed of the anticipatory bail plea as Babushaan was cooperating in the investigation. The public prosecutor and the defending counsel apprised the court.

Kharavel Nagar police in Bhubaneswar had filed a case against Babushaan on the basis of a complaint filed by Trupti. In her complaint, Trupti had alleged mental torture by Babushaan and his rumoured girlfriend Prakruti Mishra.

The police had summoned Babushaan for interrogation. The actor accompanied by his actress mother Aparajita had appeared before the cops for questioning a few days ago. Fearing arrest, the actor had filed an anticipatory bail pea in the HC.

The marital discord between Babushaan and Trupti spilled on to the streets when the latter allegedly assaulted the actor and Prakruti, an actress, in full public view on July 23.

The incident occurred when Babushaan and Prakruti were travelling in a car to catch a flight to Chennai to promote a movie.

Trupti had then alleged that Babushaan and Prakruti were having an affair. She also alleged that Prakruti was supplying marijuana and other intoxicants to Babushaan.

The police had also registered a case against Trupti on a complaint filed by Prakruti’s parents.
