Orissa High Court to remain closed for 16 days this month

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court (HC) will remain closed for 16 days starting tomorrow (October 9) for the ensuing Dussehra festival.

The court will reopen on October 25.

However, few important cases will be taken up by vacation judges through Hybrid mode during the holidays.

Total six Judges, including Chief Justice S Muralidhar will hold court as Vacation Judges on October 11, 18 and 21, a notice issued by the HC read.

 

Meanwhile, two Judges–Justice Jaswant Singh and Justice Arindam Sinha, who were transferred to Orissa HC from Punjab and Haryana High Court and Calcutta High Court, respectively, were administered oath by the Chief Justice today.

With the latest transfer, Orissa High Court now has a total of 13 Judges.
