OSRTC bus collides head-on with gas tanker truck in Nayagarh

Nayagarh: One person died and as many as 15 others sustained injuries after a State-owned OSRTC bus collided head-on with a gas tanker truck at Takera Ghat in Daspalla area of Nayagarh district today.

Of 15 injured persons in bus-truck collision, health condition of seven are stated to be critical. All the injured persons have been admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Daspalla.

According to reports, the OSRTC bus carrying as many as 60 passengers was enroute to Jatani in Khordha district from Kantamal in Boudh district.

The incident occurred at around 12 noon when the bus collided head-on with the gas tanker truck coming from opposite direction on the Ghat killing the truck driver on the spot.

The locals rescued the passengers and bus driver trapped inside the vehicle.

On receiving information, police and fire services personnel reached the spot for rescue.
