OSRTC’s Bhubaneswar-Cuttack all-women bus service to resume soon!

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) may resume its all-women bus service between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack soon. The Transport Department has asked the OSRTC to take steps in this regard, reports said.

To provide safety to working women and girl students during travel, OSRTC’s all-women special bus service between the two cities was started in 2013 after the infamous ‘Nirbhaya’ incident in New Delhi.

However, the bus service was later suspended by the corporation.

Many women representatives had in the recent past reached out to the Chief Minister Grievance Cell seeking resumption of the special bus service.

Later, the Transport Department directed the OSRTC to resume the service on priority basis.
