Bhadrak: Candidates of OSSC ULB Accountant Examination-2023 staged protest at Bhadrak Autonomous College alleging question paper leak.
The examination was scheduled today between 10 am and 12 noon. However, the aspirants leveled multiple allegations against the Odisha Staff Selection Commission questioning 'transparency'.
The candidates created ruckus inside the college a few minutes after the examination.
"The question paper of the examination was leaked as the seal of question papers was tampered. The examinees were provided the question papers 15 minutes late," alleged the agitating candidates.
"The question paper seal was already opened before distribution of the papers. We brought the matter into the notice of college authorities, but we did not get satisfactory answer," they said.
However, the college authorities refuted the question paper leak allegation.
"Nearly 700 candidates were to appear in the examination at Bhadrak Autonomous College, which was among five centres in the state for the OSSC exam. A few minutes after the exam, around eight candidates spread the rumour of question paper leak, which is not true. The protocol for conducting the examination has been well-followed by us. Of course, the question papers were distributed 15 minutes late. But, we gave additional 15 minutes to candidates towards end of the exam. The exam was scheduled between 10 am and 12 noon. As the question papers reached the centre at 9.45 am, the exam began at 10.15 am and continued till 12.15 noon. We have video clips on question paper distribution, but we do not think any irregularity took place during the exam. Whatever inquiry is ordered in future regarding the examination, we are ready to face," said the college authority.
Recently, the question papers of OSSC JE (Civil) Main written examination were leaked in the state following which the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) cancelled the test conducted on July 16. The fresh main written examination for JE (Civil) will be conducted on September 3.
In connection with the question paper leak incident, Odisha Police apprehended total 17 persons so far including the mastermind.
According to reports, Vishal Kumar Chaurasia, the prime accused in the case, is a government employee in Bihar. He had demanded Rs 10 lakh to 15 lakh each from the job applicants. During investigation, police found that the question papers were leaked from the printing press before the exam.
