OTDC launches cooking competition; last date for registration June 27

Bhubaneswar:  To promote traditional  cuisines of the state, Odisha Tourism Development  Corporation (OTDC) in association with the Tourism Department has launched a cooking competition ‘Ama Ghara, Ama Handisala’ (Our Home, Our Kitchen).

People having culinary skills can participate in the contest while staying in their respective houses. Those interested will have to send their personal details like name, address, email ID, phone number and a photo along with a video of their recipe on WhatsApp numbers-8260638331 and 8260641611. Also, the participants can email the same at [email protected]. The last date for registration is June 27.

The initiative was launched by Tourism Minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi and OTDC Chairperson Shreemayee Mishra here last evening.

Applications with incomplete details will not be taken into consideration, said OTDC MD Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav. From all entries,  the jury will select the best 40 recipes and the selected contestants will be felicitated. Besides, their recipes will be telecast on TV channels. This apart, out of the 40, top three contestants will be rewarded with attractive prizes, he added.

The initiative aims at providing people a platform to showcase their culinary skills and place the authentic Odia cuisines on the global culinary map, said the OTDC Chairperson.
