OUAT entrance exam: Fake examinee among 4 held in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A fake examinee and three others have been arrested from two exam centres during OUAT entrance examination here, yesterday.

The culprits have been identified as Adarsh Choudhury, a resident of Sikar in Rajasthan, Bihar’s Amit Singh and Odisha’s Amiya Bhushan and Ranjit Beura.

The fake examinee Adarsh wrote the wrong name on the answer sheet that raised suspicion of exam invigilators who later informed the police.

According to reports, middlemen Amiya and Ranjit had struck a deal amounting to Rs. 5 lakh, with Amit to arrange a fake examinee for a student in Gop.

“I was supposed to get Rs. 3 lakh and pay Adarsh Rs. 1.5 lakh. However, we have not received a single penny so far,” said Amit.

Reportedly, Adarsh was flown in to Bhubaneswar by the middlemen and possessed a fake admit card with his own photo and duplicate stamp.

A police official, on condition of anonymity revealed that poor financial condition could have lured Adarsh into this trap.
