Out to attend nature’s call, young girl gang-raped in Odisha

Khurda: In a shameful incident, a young girl was allegedly gang-raped by three unidentified men today near a village in Odisha’s Khurda district.

The matter came to light after the victim’s family lodged a written complaint at Jankia police station in the district.

As per the available information, the victim was first rushed to a nearby hospital and later she has been shifted to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar after her condition deteriorated. Her condition is stated to be critical.

Sources said the girl was abducted and gang-raped by three persons while she had gone to attend a call of nature in a field near her village last evening.

On the basis of the victim’s complaint, the Jankia police have registered a case against the accused.

By the time of filing this report, no was arrested nor detained in this connection. The local police claimed they have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.

It may be mentioned here that, a minor girl was abducted and subsequently gang-raped by miscreants after looting valuables from her house in Balichhai under Polasara block in Ganjam district late Wednesday night.
