Outfit appeals Odisha villagers not to help COVID-19 infected Maoists

Rayagada: Cautioning villagers of Rayagada district against allowing Maoists venture into their villages, the Sachetana Nagarik Manch today said the red rebels could be carriers of the deadly virus as they roam around different states.

In posters at different places of the district, the outfit appealed villagers not to attend any meeting called by the red rebels. The poster further claimed some Maoists have been contracted by the deadly virus and asks villager to refrain from help the ultras in any way.

The outfit requested the red rebels to shun violence and surrender before police and administration and get themselves admitted to hospitals for treatment of COVID-19.

Instead of congregating at one place, villagers should stay home and follow the guidelines issued by the government, the poster added.
