BIGGEST SPIKE! Over 12,000 new COVID cases in Odisha; Sundargarh records all-time-high

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported the highest ever single-day spike of over 12,000 COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours. With 12,238 fresh cases detected, the state’s total caseload today surged to 5,12,400.

Sundargarh district  recorded an all-time-high of 2073 cases whereas Khordha reported 1828 cases.

Of the total fresh cases,  6914 are quarantine cases while remaining 5324 are local contact cases. Total 50,799 samples were tested yesterday.

The state’s tally of active cases has surged  to 86,950.

Meanwhile, 19 more persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours. However, 6854 patients have recovered from the disease and been discharged from hospitals in last 24 hours.
