Bhubaneswar: More than 2500 private schools have not received accreditation in Odisha, informed State School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash to Assembly today.
Answering to BJD MLA Chakradhar Kanhar’s query, the Minister stated that there are 6767 private schools in Odisha, of which only 4236 have certification of recognition so far.
“Total 2531 schools are functioning in the State sans Certificate of Recognition,” Dash told the House.
Of 2531 schools, some had applied for Certificate of Recognition. As they failed to meet required parameters, the accreditation has not been provided to those schools.
However, necessary steps are being taken to issue showcause notices to shut the schools those are functioning without certificate of recognition in the State, the Minister said in his reply.
