Over 30 students test COVID-19 positive at XIMB

Bhubaneswar: With the daily COVID-19 cases increasing across Odisha, over 30 students of the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) tested positive for the highly contagious virus.

Taking precautionary measures, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared one hostel of the premier management institution as the containment zone to prevent further spread of infection at the campus.

The infected students have been kept in isolation for treatment.

Source said that the BMC will conduct RT-PCR test on remaining students staying in other hostels of XIMB to detect the COVID cases.

Today, Odisha logged another big spike of 3,679 new COVID-19 cases with Khordha district registering the highest of 1,223 infections in last 24 hours.

With upsurge in daily COVID cases, two districts including Khordha have been declared as red zone in Odisha.
