Over 34, 000 Odisha students to take NEET Sunday

Over 34,000 students from Odisha will take the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on Sunday for admission into undergraduate courses in medical colleges across the country.

The aspiring doctors from the state would appear the national level eligibility test conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at three cities – Bhubaneswar, Berhampur and Rourkela – across 20 centres.

For the first time, candidates have an option to appear the test in regional languages including Odia. Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had announced its decision to host this year’s NEET-UG in Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Odia and Tamil.

Notably, there are two entry slots. In slot A, the entry time is from 7:30 am to 8.30 am and for slot B the entry time is from 8:30 am to 9.30 am. The examination will begin at 10 am and end at 1 pm.

This year, 11.5 lakh candidates have registered for NEET- 2017 for 56,000 medical and dental seats across the country.

Checklist for students:

Admit card
Passport size photograph
Postcard size photo affixed on proforma

Candidate will be provided with Blue/Black ball point pen at the examination centre to write particulars on the cover page of Test Booklet, OMR sheet and for darkening the circles of responses.

The candidate should affix the photograph in Admit Card as uploaded on online application form.

In case candidates uploaded wrong photograph/signature would have to carry original Aadhar Card or any Government photo identity for establishing their identity.
