Over 50 Odisha cops donated plasma for treatment of COVID-19 patients: DGP

Bhubaneswar: More than 50 Corona Warriors from Odisha police have donated their plasma for treatment of people infected with the virus.

DGP  Abhay took to Twitter and informed that so far, 52 Corona Warriors of Odisha Police have donated plasma at different facilities like SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, IGH Rourkela and VIMSAR, Burla and saved the lives of other critical COVID patients.

As per the information shared by the state Police Headquarters , highest 14 cops from OSAP 8th Battalion Chhatrapur in Gajam district have donated their plasma. Besides, six each from OSAP 2nd Battalion in Jharusguda and Gajapati district have donated plasma.

Recently, timely donation of plasma by a Constable saved the life of a seriously ill Corona patient in Sundargarh district. Constable Jacob Barla earned much accolades for donating his A+ blood group plasma as any sort of delay in receiving the therapy  would have turned fatal for the patient.
