Over 500 people booked in Odisha’s Rourkela for violating COVID-19 norms

Rourkela: The Rourkela Police registered a case against more than 500 people for allegedly violating COVID-19 guidelines issued by the government.

The case was registered at the Plant Site Police Station under Section 269/34 IPC/3 Epidemic Act against the violators. This was informed by Rourkela SP K Siva Subramani today.

Worth mentioning, thousands of people took part in the funeral procession of one Dilshad Khan of Nala Road in Rourkela who was killed by some miscreants over past rivalry on June 8.

Not only these people violated the norms of social distancing, they also did not wear masks during the funeral procession. Later the video of the procession went viral on social media.

As per the COVID-19 guidelines of Odisha, more than 20 people could not attend a cremation.
