Cuttack: More than 60 thatched shops at Nilai in Odisha's Cuttack district were reduced to ashes as unidentified miscreants allegedly set a vegetable market on fire last night.

Properties worth lakhs were gutted in the incident. Vendors at the weekly market were seen undergoing severe inconvenience this morning as they came to the market with vegetables for sale.

Some drunkards and drug addicts used to gather at the market during evenings and might have resorted to arson yesterday, the vendors said.
