Owner of DJ van fined Rs 52,277 for violating MV rules in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: Officials of the Regional Transport Office-II (RTO-II), Bhubaneswar today imposed a fine of Rs 52,277 on the owner of a DJ van on charges of violating different rules under the amended Motor Vehicle Act. The RTO officials fined DJ van owner Laxmidhar Nayak, a resident of Balipatana, Khurda for running the vehicle without fitness certificate, PUC certificate, require permit and insurance documents and Motor Vehicle tax documents.

As per reports, Rs 5,000 fine were imposed for running the vehicle without registration document and fitness certificate, Rs 10,000 for violating air and noise pollution, Rs 10,000 for without permit, Rs 2,000 for lack of insurance and Odisha Motor Vehicle Tax for the period from July 1, 2018 to March 31, 2020. Also the truck owner was fined Rs 500 for general offence.

Earlier in the day, a bus owner was fined Rs 30,500 in Bolangir for running the bus without permit and allowing driver to drive without licence. Reports said the bus, namely ‘Shatabdi’ was plying from Bolangir to Titlagarh.
