Paid isolation facility for asymptomatic patients allowed in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: Amid a spurt in COVID-19 cases, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared three hotels and guest houses as paid isolation facilities in the city.

After consultation with OYO Hotels & Rooms, authorities of BMC declared MA Sum Palace, near SUM Hospital Ghatikia; MA Guest house, plot no 94-A, Chandaka Industrial Estate and MA Classic Inn, 108 District Centre, Opposite Lane of Khadi Niketan, Chandrasekharpur as paid isolation facilities in the initial phase.

A total of 14 rooms at MA Sum Palace, 15 rooms at MA Guest house and eight rooms at MA Classic Inn have been reserved as paid isolation facilities. A COVID positive patient can pay Rs 1299 (inclusive of all taxes) each to avail isolation facilities at MA Sum Palace and MA Guest house, plot no 94-A, Chandaka Industrial Estate. The charge at MA Classic Inn is Rs 1899 to avail executive AC facility. The patients will have to make advance payment to the hotel service provider amounting to 50% of the room rent per day for the required number of isolation days.

As per an order issued by BMC, the COVID positive patient but clinically assigned as asymptomatic can only avail this paid isolation facility.

The minimum number of days up to which an asymptomatic positive patient can avail this pay and use isolation facility is 10 days from the date of sample given unless and otherwise directed by the concerned Medical Officer to stay for more number of days subject to symptoms/health condition.

The patients have to undergo seven days home quarantine period after completion of mandatory isolation period. The patients if desired can also avail this facility for post isolation quarantine period.

The patients will comply with the COVID-19 protocols and co-operate with the service provider at paid isolation facility as well as BMC during the entire period of stay.

The BMC notification added the patients will self monitor his/her health condition daily regarding temperature by using thermometer and oxygen saturation level using pulse oxy-meter. In case of any health issue, the patient will immediately intimate the front desk of the hotel for intervention.

The concerned Medical Officer shall be responsible for providing telephonic consultation services to the guest as and when required. In case any serious health issue the concerned Medical Officer shall also visit the place for assessing the health condition and recommending for hospitalization, the order added.
