[WATCH] Pakistani devotees visiting Odisha’s Srimandir pray for stronger ties with India

Puri: At time when there have been public unrests across the country over the Citizenship Amendment Act, some Hindus from Pakistan today visited the Puri Shree Jagannath temple and prayed for stronger relations between India and Pakistan.

A visitor from Pakistan said, “Usually it is very difficult to get visa for a Pakistani national to visit Puri Srimandir. We are very happy after paying obeisance to deities. Also, we thank media and the Indian government for facilitating our visit.”

Expressing similar views, another woman visitor said, “I prayed before the Lord that the relation between India and Pakistan gets normalized so that we get visa easily to visit Puri and offer prayers to the deities.”

As many as 150 residents from Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta and Khairpur areas of Pakistan have visited the pilgrim city this year. They are on a 25-day visa for the visit to India.

“We feel blessed after coming here. Though we faced difficulties while coming here, all the pain went away after visiting Srimandir and worshipping the deities,” said a female visitor from Quetta area of Pakistan.
