Puri: Police recovered body of a man found hanging inside a room under Delang block in Puri district today.

The deceased was identified as Krushna Chandra Senapati (48), the chairman of Abhayamukhi panchayat samiti.

The Satyabadi police seized the body and sent it for autopsy.

The locals spotted the body found hanging from a ceiling fan with a cotton cloth (gamuchha) on Wednesday.

They suspected that the leader was hung following murder as feet of the deceased were touching the floor and the door was not closed from inside, rather it was half-closed.

The prima facie suggested that the miscreants might have killed Senapati and hanged him to give it a ‘suicide’ look.
