Panchayat Samiti members resign en masse in Odisha’s Champua

Keonjhar, May 30:

As many as 22 Panchayat Samiti members of Champua block in Odisha’s Keonjhar district out of a total of 23 today tendered their resignations en masse protesting against the high-handedness of the Block Development Officer (BDO).

The 22 Panchayat Samiti members who tendered their resignations to the BDO include Champua Block chairman.

The members alleged that the BDO was neck deep in corruption. They accused the BDO of siphoning off funds from different welfare schemes being run in the block.
