Pangolin rescued from house in Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: An endangered pangolin was rescued from a house at Nuadihi village in Brajrajnagar of Jharsuguda district in Odisha today.

According to sources, the family members of a house spotted the mammal in the morning following which they informed the forest department for its rescue. On receiving information, the forest officials reached the spot and rescued the pangolin from the residence of a local.  The mammal weighed around 5 kg.

Following rescue, it is suspected that more number of pangolins might have been present in the area.

Notably, pangolins are said to be the most widely trafficked mammals in the world.
