Pangolin rescued from Odisha quarantine centre to undergo COVID-19 test!

Athagarh: The Forest Department decided to undertake COVID-19 test of a pangolin rescued from a quarantine centre under Badamba forest range in Athagarh area today.

Before releasing the female pangolin into the forest, swab samples of the animal will be sent for COVID-19 test, informed Athagarh Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Sasmita Lenka.

Acting on a tip-off from the Sarpanch of Mahulia panchayat, the Forest personnel raided the quarantine centre and rescued the pangolin earlier in the day. Two persons were arrested in connection with the case.

Investigation is on how the pangolin reached the quarantine centre.
