Pangolin rescued from well in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A pangolin was rescued alive from a well at Budhiapatana village in Athagarh area of Odisha’s Cuttack district today.

According to reports, some villagers spotted the animal inside the well this morning and informed Forest Department staffers, who reached the spot and rescued the pangolin from the water body. The age of the pangolin is estimated to be 5 years.

The animal was taken to the Athagarh Sadar Forest Range office for treatment. The animal will be released into Bauda Reserve Forest after treatment, an official said.

It is suspected that the pangolin fell into the well last night while searching for food.
