According to Paradip Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Gadadhar Pradhani, the cops have started raiding several places and are questioning many in connection with the incident.

“Five special teams have been formed to expedite the investigation and we are conducting raids at several places. We have also sent two of the teams out of Odisha to track the accused. We are trying everything possible to get them including the mastermind as soon as possible,” said Pradhani speaking to reporters today.

He also informed that Cuttack College Square based Add Annex Nursing Home was raided late last night. Further, raids were conducted at the house of several OSL officials across Salepur, Mahanga and Basapur around Kendrapara town.

Among others, police is also tracking three top executives of Odisha Stevedors Ltd (OSL), against whom Rajkishore Swain, elder brother of Mahendra had complained.

“We are collecting information about the absence of the three senior officials since the day of the incident. We are also collecting detailed information about Executive Director Basant Bal, Manager Operation Subash Acharya and Senior Manager Debi Prasad Tripathy for their alleged involvement in the murder and their role in OSL,” he added.

The police, on November 10, had frozen the bank accounts of these three executives.

It may be noted here that bombs were hurled at Seaways executive Mahendra Swain’s car and he was shot dead by two men on October 26 while he was on his way to his office.
