Cuttack, Nov 14:
Noose seems to be tightening around Odisha Stevedores Limited (OSL) chief Mahimananda Mishra aka Mahima Mishra as police is likely to cancel his firearms license after the former has been named in an FIR pertaining to a murder case.
According to reports, Jagatsinghpur police approached Twin City Commissionerate police seeking cancellation of firearm licenses of OSL Managing Director Mahimananda Mishra and his son Charchit Mishra.
Over a fortnight ago, Jagatsinghpur police had issued a lookout circular against Mahima Mishra and three other officials of the stevedoring company – Basant Kumar Bal, Subash Acharya and Debi Prasad Tripathy – in connection with murder of one Mahendra Kumar Swain, two days after the murder.
On October 10, Jagatsinghpur police had sealed the bank account of OSL, personal accounts of company’s Executive Director Basant Kumar Bal, Operation Manager Subash Acharya and Senior Manager Debi Prasad Tripathy.
It may be recalled that Swain was shot dead near Ambedkar Bhawan at Madhuban Colony in Port Town of Paradip on October 26. Swain was working as the General Manager of Seaways Group.
